Nine years ago today, I married a great guy!

We woke up to a gray sky with rain in the forecast. Actually rain and floods in the forecast. We decided we would go out to dinner and find a motel in Wichita.

We started out with a great plan for the day but, things changed. We had planned to park Wayne's new black truck in the parking lot across the street from the church behind the businesses on Main Street so that no one would be tempted to decorate it for us.
Wayne and my son, took my van to get more film for the photographer while I fussed with my hair. I get a phone call in the middle of doing my hair and it's Wayne asking how much I have in my saving account. Is this any time for a pre-nuptial??
He's serious. He repeats, "How much money do you have in your savings account?"

Then he proceeds with, "your van just broke down in the middle of Main and 6th Street and we pushed it into a parking lot.I think it's serious."

Wayne calls his boss to give him a ride home to pick up his truck.

I called his boss's wife, who was baking the wedding cake and asked if she could give me a ride to the church. Now it's raining and the streets are starting to get filled with water.

We got through the wedding service, stayed for cake and punch. Opened our presents, then decided we should call a tow truck to pick up my van. We went by the repair shop to check on my van, no diagnosis yet but he should have it ready Monday.

Since the weather reports were saying flooding in portions of Wichita, we decided to eat dinner in town and go sleep at our little house we had just bought.
